You folks are gonna be so shocked to hear me say this, but I *HATE* Steve Vai with such a passion that I hope he breaks both hands so that I never have to hear anything he does ever again. Its just ridiculous how this guy seems to get a lot of positive reviews and yet can so utterly suck. His ego eclipses even Yngwie Malmsteen's, and that's saying something, folks. Just my two pennies worth :)

His ego doesn't have anything to do with his performance though and that's what matters to me and don't tell me his performance suck. After all, it's ok for Gods to have much ego. :) Same goes for Yngwie. God. Like it or not.

Yngwie, made his name being an arpeggio speed freak. He had no personal touch or artistic feel in his playing. I do not consider him a guitar god by any means.
Steve, would not get such a bad rap, if he stopped putting himself up front. And got back into being in a band. He tries to be Joe Satch...but he is no, and never will be.
But he is by far a better player the Yng-a-dink, by far...

Yngwie.. I never said he's the best of all (though I said he is a guitar God), but I wanna be able to be that kind of arpeggio speed freak indeed. You have to confess - he's the best arpeggio speed freak in the guitar world.

As a luthier it would be a dream to have someone as amazing as Mr. Vai to play one of my guitars......... maybe I should just mail him one lol

Guys, if you think about Malmsteen, I always have the impression he plays the same things over and over again while at Vai and Satriani I have never heard 2 identical notes in 2 songs, come one!
